History: Across seas, in another land, lies the people of Visu. These people, who have existed for centuries, are known as the Visuelle. The Visuelle are a prosperous people. They live in a very modern world. A world with a strong economy and advances in everything, all because they discovered a trade that has been talked and sought after by man for generations, sorcery.
Over a hundred yeas ago, a man by the name of John V. George, led an experiment that opened up the field of sorcery and brought it into the modern world of Visu. Ever since that day, the people of Visu, have been working none stop to expand even deeper into understanding and controlling sorcery. The year is now 1989, for the people of Visu, and now their entire society is based around the use of sorcery. It is used in everything, from public welfare, agriculture and the trades, medicine, and the military. The Visuellian people have adapted themselves to using sorcery for every field possible to better their lives, but as nice as the land of Visu sounds, there is no such thing as paradise. There were always people who were against sorcery, saying it was a devil's art, and being this, formed many small terrorist groups that would clash with the normal Visu military.
The science and art of sorcery is a dangerous one, and though many people use it to better their lives, there are always those who will use it to gain power. Now there were those in the military who used sorcery to protect the people of Visu. These brave men and women were called Tactical Sorcerers. It is their job to use their knowledge and power to take care of any threat that threatened the land and people of Visu. However as time passed, a few of these tactical sorcerers believed that they were better then the common people. Being this they broke away from the military and formed a group known as the Hexers.
It wouldn't take long for the group known as the hexers to grow in both power and numbers. Within a few years of their creation, the hexers had become the most feared terrorist group in Visu. Even other terrorist groups were afraid of them. Soon enough the views of many of the other terrorists groups changed. Instead of fighting to a sorcery free world, their goals became power and wealth, much like that of the hexers. Being this, the hexers began making deals and alliances with various other groups, and soon enough became the main center point of the terrorist movement for wealth and power. They controlled the other groups and used them to fight against the Visu military. It was without a doubt that war had taken over Visu.
As time passed, more and more effort was put into end the war. Sorcery Academy's were opened to increase the amount of tactical sorcerers, and specially made armor and weapons were created to give them a larger advantage. This worked for a while. The terrorists groups couldn't deal with the strength of the tactical sorcerers before, and now even the hexers were having trouble with them. When it looked like the tactical sorcerers would actually end the war, the hexers came up with an evil and desperate tactic. They started taking their own followers, and turning them into daemons. Daemons are the after effect of when sorcery goes wrong, is used too much, or a sorcerer uses a overly powerful spell without having any control. The person transforms into an abomination, bent on killing anyone and everyone. These daemons are the greatest threat of using sorcery, and they had become the hexers main weapon in the war against Visu.
As the war continued, the Hierarchs of Visu, otherwise and more commonly known as the High Council, decided that it was truly time for a change in the progressing changes in battle. With each passing day, the hexers produced more and more daemons to cause havoc and destruction. The tactical sorcerers managed them, but the more they fought, the greater the chances of them too becoming daemons. In the long stretch, victory would not come to the Visu if they continued to fight as they did. So as time passed, the high council decided that they would need new means to defeat the hexers. Being this, they set in motion the Semestru Project. With the Semestru Project, the high council would work on training new, and old, tactical sorcerers to travel to new lands, in hopes of finding some way to help them defeat the hexers and bring the drawn out war to an end.
Special Info:
Rankings of the Visu Society:
Civilian: Is a normal, everyday person, who is usually a member of the work force. Civilians usually don't know sorcery.
Erktechs: People who possess very limited and specific forms of sorcery, usually classified within their line of work. Examples of this would be doctors, engineers, scientists, and so on.
Soldiers: Often just normal members of the military. Some might know some sorcery, but often not, or at least not any fit for combat. Typically the back-up for a tactical sorcerer.
Licensed Sorcerers: Those in this class, often are noted as people who know sorcery and can use it freely, without breaking the Visu laws. Most licensed sorcerers fill the jobs of special police forces, teachers at the Magic Academy, or reserves for the rank of tactical sorcerer.
Tactical Sorcerer: A tactical sorcerer is the highest ranking a person can get to, other then being a seat of the high council. Tactical sorcerers are the elite of the military in Visu. They are trained heavily in the ways and teachings of sorcery, and are the main task force for dealing with daemons. Tactical sorcerers are very powerful, and are fully fitted for combat.
Hierarch/High Council Member: Hierarchs are the leaders of the land of Visu, and are also the strongest sorcerers. There are nine seats within the high council, each filled by a sorcerer/sorceress who has proven their abilities to the fullest and have mastered all spells. The Hierarchs are the ones who decide on tactical sorcerers, ranks, placement, division, and various other aspects that fit into the academies and military.
Sorcery:
Many people within the land of Visu have the ability to use Sorcery. Though they can use sorcery, it doesn't mean that they have the knowledge or talent for doing so. Sorcery is indeed a gift from birth, much like how many traits of people are. Those who are better fitted in using sorcery, can learn everything they need to learn in the academy. Those who are not of Visu blood can also use sorcery, given the proper training and knowledge. However, that person would require spiritual energy of some sort and an extensive amount of training with a professional sorcerer.
Requirements: Born within the land of Visu.
Current Members: Over 500,000 people live in the land of Visu.
