Duel of Fate [Sanzen vs Natsumi]

A small buzzing sound hummed periodically in the tea shop of Kumo. It was odd and after much complaint not even the owners of the shop could figure out its source. They thought maybe it was a machine in the kitchen or possibly a light bulb about to go out but after a while everyone sort of stopped caring. Watching them run about, Sanzen felt a sense of entertainment. It wasn't her who was making that annoying sound and even she didn't know it's source but it was humorous watching them frantically search. Some may think it was twisted humor but this didn't matter. As long as she obtained information she didn't care even if her tea was refilled or not. While periodically sipping, her ears were open as she pretended to read a newspaper about what was occurring in Kumogakure. Just why was a Konoha chunin in Kumo? That was a question only she knew the answer to and that's how it would stay. She may seemed suspicious but she wasn't there for a dirty deed or to cause chaos. No, she was here to fight and only fight besides enjoying some tea.

"Did you hear about the Vongola? Their clan seems promising, you think they'll turn on us?"

"Naaaaah. I think they are good people and will protect Kumogakure with everything they have. They seem like decent individuals. Especially the young woman...what was her name... Natsumi?"

"You only say that because you want in her pants you dirty pervert."

"Oh hush, I said it because she seems pretty decent for a chunin."

A smirk crossed Sanzen's face behind the newspaper. It appeared the Vongola were rather popular here. In fact there was even an article about their achievements in the newspaper. This was perfect. Not only was this Natsumi character a woman but she also seemed to be rather popular and even a chunin. Sanzen needed to fight a chunin and came to Kumo to get a taste of their fighting style. There weren't any other Konoha Chunin that were woman, at least from what she remembered; the good majority were men. This didn't matter but it was still nice to fight someone of the same gender to see what they did in battle. Sanzen may even be able to get some ideas from her. Taking out a piece of paper and pen, she began to write a message. As she finished, she then approached the men for more information regarding Natsumi. If this went well, Sanzen may finally accomplish aother part of her goal when it came to actually finding an opponent.

After receiving information regarding who Natsumi was, where she lived, and then some; Sanzen set off to her house to drop off the message. She slipped into her door before taking off towards the place she planned to meet her. The letter requested for Natsumi to meet her in a half hour since the message was delivered. This would give them both enough time to finish anything up and prepare for battle. If she were late then Sanzen would just have more time but as long as she came that was all that really mattered.

Stepping foot onto the soil, Sanzen looked around as she studied her surroundings. She stood in an open area that was roughly 20 meters wide all the way around, enough space if they fought head on. Around this area was numerous trees as well; they would obviously be in a forest. The canopy provided some light but quite a lot of darkness in the forest. The open grass area however provided a lot of light though due to true lack of tree cover; and the fact that it was about 3pm. Using her time wisely, Sanzen immediately began to check all her tools much like her student did. She made sure how much she had and began to prepare them for battle before beginning to move about in the area. She wished to study her surroundings as a part of her preparation amongst other things. With the playing field mostly set, Sanzen waited for her opponents arrival as she crouched in the branch of a tree; her plan and moves prepared and ready to go.

Today felt like any other day for Natsumi. She got out of bed, got dressed and did her daily routine of eating, brushing her teeth, and then going off to do whatever she felt like doing today. Probably train her hand to hand combat without her Guan Dao, or maybe go and bother some fellow members of the Vongola? Or not, she didn't feel in the -right- mood to do any of those kinds of things. As she put on her black tux outfit on and placed her Vongola boxes inside her front pocket, she turned around to look at herself in the mirror. Her eyes, green as the grass was staring right back at her, a thin line was on her face, her ever serious expression and then... a yawn. She shook her head, her hair was slightly a mess seeing as she didn't brush it yet, her eyes fell over to the brush that was on the drawer in front of her and picked it up and started brushing her mid back black hair.

After she brushed her hair she tied it up in a high ponytail and began to walk out of her bed room. Natsumi cracked her neck a bit while having a complete sleepy-like face even though she was just in the bathroom a few minutes ago. As she headed towards the door and opened, something caught her eye. It was a letter that was now on the floor since she opened the door of her parents home, seeing as sometimes Natsumi stayed with them and other times she stayed with the Vongola. Natsumi crouched down and picked the letter up and straightened herself up. "Odd...", she mumbled to herself as she looked at the letter, wondering whether or not to open it. "Wonder what it is and who's it from..", she read the letter carefully, her eyes looking at each word as she blinked. This Sanzen wanted to meet Natsumi in half and hour. She had enough time but it made her curiosity grow as to who this Sanzen was and what did she want with her.

She shrugged it off, deciding to go and see this "Sanzen" and wonder what she wanted. Who knows, maybe this could turn out very interesting, or boring.. or both? At any rate, she should head out to the desired location where she was going to meet this person. After closing the door and locking it, she placed her hands inside her pockets and walked out.

It was a sunny day, something Natsumi liked instead of raining all the time. It got depressing it if was always raining, so it was nice having a sunny day but it is also nice having rainy days. Just not all the time. Whoever this person was, Natsumi had to be careful, she didn't know who Sanzen was or what she wanted, it could probably be a trap in most cases so she wasn't gonna have her guard down when she met with this person. As she arrived at the area, her eyes narrowed. Natsumi knew this person was here.. or it could be someone else who just decided to appear on where the person was to meet Natsumi? The area seemed rather clear and wide as well, perfect if something happened. As she walked in a bit further her expression turned blank, her blank expression looked like she was emotionless, and her emotionless expression looked.. well, the same.

Her eyes traveled over a certain tree, and kept her stare at it, she noticed a woman crouched down in the branch of the tree she was staring. "Are you Sanzen? If so, I'm guessing you wanted to meet me?" Knowing the area quite well, she waited for the woman to respond to her question as she looked at her surroundings, sensing no one near them except them.

"Are you Sanzen? If so, I'm guessing you wanted to meet me?"

'Sanzen' opened her eyes from beneath the canopy of the tree while she remained crouched on the tree branch. They burned a bright red as her hand suddenly flicked out in a throwing motion. She wasted no time and did not say a word as the battle began. When her hand had motioned a throw, four kunai tore through the air towards the woman. There were three that traveled in a pack, the middle one being slightly behind the first two. The fourth kunai however traveled behind the pack at a slightly slower rate.

The kunai zipped through the air and right at Natsumi. As they neared, Natsumi may or may not be able to hear the slight sound difference between the sound of a normal thrown kunai and the sound one of these three produced. Of course she would have to have high senses and know the sound a kunai made as it pierced through the air. If not then by the time she did recognize the difference it would most likely already be to late.

'Well, how rude.' Was the thought going through Natsumi's mind. She narrowed her eyes at the kunais coming her way and she jumped back, avoiding two out of the three kunais she saw and the other Natsumi moved to the left, dodging her just barely as she got a cut on her right cheek. Natsumi unstrapped the Guan Dao from her back and quickly dispersed the last kunai knive that was coming towards her. She almost, almost was going to calm down when she quickly saw another kunai.

Ahh, crap! She did a quick side step to the side just as the kunai knife cut her right shoulder a bit. It didn't hurt, but it would sting later on, seeing as Natsumi doesn't like dealing with pain all that much. It seems this woman didn't come here to talk, but for a fight. Well, if she wanted one, she would indeed get what she came here for. She strapped her Guan Dao to her back and then did a few hand signs and closed her eyes. She inhaled air and then she exhaled, and as she exhaled a long stream of incredibly hot fire came out of her mouth. It was like a flamethrower and she was exhaling the fire towards Sanzen was. The fire crackled as it started burning the tree and some of the trees around, Natsumi used this as her coverage.

The young Chuunin did a roll towards some bushes that were at least 20 feet away from the woman who might've probably escaped the fire. Natsumi landed on all fours and then she got into a crouched stance and got her Guan Dao into her right hand and got up, not bothering to dust herself off. She turned around while getting up slowly and moving back, not making a sound whatsoever as she stared at the burning trees. She probably should've held it in but it's been long since she fought, so it wasn't a surprise when Natsumi decided to go first and use fire. Ahh, fire. Something that picked her curiosity as a child. So beautiful, yet so deadly, you felt like wanting to touch the flames but you just had to hold that urge back. Fire was simply something that Natsumi was interested in along with other things.

Natsumi held her weapon with both hands, looking at all sides and as well as out into the grassy field, wondering where could Sanzen be. She didn't know anything about her and she just showed her that she knew Katon, what was going to happen now? Would she use jutsus at her as well? If so, what kind of jutsus? Or what if she kept using weaponry? These thoughts were inside Natsumi's head as she kept her eyes, ears and her guard up.

Natsumi made her first mistake as she attempted to deflect the kunai and move away. Her actions would now cost her. As she missed the first two kunai the third was only a semi second behind and once it was within a meter of her; it exploded. The sound the third kunai was emitting was none other than an exploding tag that had been secured to it. Since it was properly secured it wouldn't emit a flapping sound; that would make things to obvious. But that did not mean that it still emitted at least a bit of a sound difference compared to a normal kunai. Either way it would most likely be to difficult to tell the tag was there. From Sanzen's perspective she inferred that Natsumi did not high senses. That or she was to lazy to use them or wasn't paying enough attention.

Due to the tagged kunai's position compared to that of the other two, upon exploding it gave them a boost. The two kunai would get an extra push that would cause them to strike with a deadlier force. Since Natsumi had moved to the left it would mean that she would not only receive damage from it exploding in her face but the chances of her getting badly cut or even stabbed were high. This was only the first three kunai though. Due to the fact the kunai suddenly exploded without her knowledge it meant her body may be surprised and the fourth kunai wasn't to far behind. This kunai would tear through the explosion and strike as well.

Meanwhile, right after Sanzen had performed her first attacks she was already prepared to carry out her next move. Right as the explosion went off 'Sanzen' threw a few shuriken towards where Natsumi would be before motioning a few hand seals. Due to the blast the chances of her seeing these weapons or even hearing them were slim to none. So, how would Natsumi react this time?
