Dumpster Diving?!? A Possible Mission!?! (Sugi and Aoi)

IC: Sugi had just finished her previous mission with Aoi, her newest friend and squadmate. Sugi would hold high respect for her, because not only was she kind and very quick thinking, she also was very quick footed. She may have not exactly agreed with how Aoi sold to the last target, but none-the-less, she had gotton the job done. Sugi felt the she would've done no better, and probably would've did worse if she had've performed this on her own. However, that would not be the objective of today,

Today, they had to do something no girl would probably agree to do; Search a dump. However, Sugi had no choice as her sensei, which she had not met yet, had gave both her and Aoi this mission. The client, of who was an old lady, a friend of Raikage-sama, wanted her diary. Sugi didn't get much information on the diary, and infact, she had practically forgot what she was looking for, as she became lost in her own thoughts.

She had been sitting on a tire outside the dump, when she was approched by an odd feeling. Viens lateral to her eyes buldged, and she was forced to jump fowards quickly. As it would turn out, an Academy drop-out managed to steal some Kunai and Shurikens. Sugi didn't bother with words, and planned to sudue the foolish boy with the Gentle Fist style.

She took her stance, but the dropout seemed smarter than she first thought, she three Kunai landed in front of her, and he had used the Shushin Technique to gain an upperhand positon, or so he thought. Sugi reacted by turning around and looking at him. "Eight Trigrams - Sixty-Eight Palms of the Hand!", she said as she began sealing the boy's Chakra Points. Hit after hit, she began wearing him done to near death. By the end of the technique, Sugi leaned against the fence.

Aoi's steps were slow in the early morning. Her jacket was zipped up, covering her usually exposed mid-torso. Her eyes followed the ground as she took heavy strides down the path. It was about 6 AM and the sun had barely peeked over the horizon. Aoi left early, to say the least, for her 9 o'clock meeting time with Sugi. She wanted to get some time off, and just relax for a bit.

Walking through the morning mist, Aoi could smell today's rain on it's way. It was always raining in Kumogakure. 'It never let's up...' Aoi thought quietly, not disturbing the peaceful silence around her. She was on a deserted path in a small park, only a mile away from the dump. Aoi wrinkled her nose. A dump. What kind of place was that for a mission? It was smelly and dirty...

Aoi sighed, shoulders sagging. Not like she could control it. She hadn't even met her sensei, and she already didn't like him. Not only were Sugi and Aoi on their own, but had already done a mission without their sensei! Not that sellling cookies was THAT hard, but still.

Aoi's eyes shifted to the side, not really paying attention to where she was going. It wasn't necessary, anyways, since she knew where she was. Aoi knew Kumogakure no Sato like the back of her hand and she hardly got lost...

Which was a lie. Aoi got lost all the time, but she didn't let that get her down. In fact, Aoi wouldn't have any of that. Besides, who cared if her sense of direction is off? There are maps. Aoi smiled at this meekly, before taking a long breath of air.

It was getting colder, with Fall in full swing. She shivered. Her legs were cold, and even with her long stockings, she would probably need to start wearing pants again, instead of her skirt and shorts. They weren't practical and would leave her freezing eventually. Aoi didn't particually like pants. They restricted her movements and had too much fabric to move around in. Aoi thought back to the man she had met on her last mission, with his fiery red hair and stitched face. Aoi's curiosity was perked with him. What was with those stitches? And the scars?

Aoi shook her head. It didn't matter now. She had a deal to keep with the man, sure, but that wasn't cause for a full examination of the guy. Besides, Aoi thought, ...not like I'll see him again any time soon.

Stretching her arms above her head, she checked the time. 8:45. Aoi stopped and looked around her, eyeing at where she was at. Fifteen minutes to get to the dump.

She was close enough.

Smiling she put her hands inside her jacket's pockets and started her way to the dump. Upon arrival, she spotted Sugi soon enough, but also an Academy drop out. Aoi tensed up, about to run, when she saw her Hyuuga-teammate take care of it. The boy was defeated easily enough with the traditional Gentle-Fist style of the Hyuuga clan. Aoi smirked. She had underestimated the girl. Aoi was impressed by the small girl, and proud to be on her team. Aoi was basic at taijutsu, her main talent laying in medical jutsu and chakra control. They'd make a good team, her and Sugi.

As she walked up to Sugi, Aoi grinned, waving at her.

"Yo! Just in time. Those were some good moves, Sugi-chan! " Aoi said, giggling alittle. She spoke again, soon after.

" Ready to find this book? It's going to be awful. "

And it was. It was a huge dump, the main trash can for Kumogakure. To simply walk in an assume that you could even FIND the damned thing was going to be tough. The old woman was old and senile. She probably left it in her attic somewhere or under her kitchen cabnit. Aoi sighed. Stupid sensei. She'd get him for this.

Aoi was going to smell of garbage for weeks.

Sugi seen Aoi with her Byakugan, and had regretted using the Gentle Fist style. "Hi Aoi-Chan, and thank you.", she said as she moved the Acdemy drop-out undernearth a bench. It'll rain soon, and I have no reason to doubt that Aoi knows that as well, Sugi thought as she looked towards the large dump. She didn't seem shocked until she stepped back. "Aoi-Chan, there is a large amount of dogs in there, as well as more Academy drop-outs.", she said as she worried there might be too many for them to handle alone without a higher ranking shinobi. It wasnt' because they were lacking in training, but more so the fact that the sheer number of dogs and Academy drop-outs was well over the number of genin performing this mission.

"We'll have to be swift, quiet, and keep a keen eye out for any diary we find.", Sugi said, before looking towards Aoi. "I'll use the Byakugan to keep track of how close Academy drop-outs or dogs get close, and whether direct combat is an option.", she said as she began walking towards the dump. The gate was locked, and Sugi had no key. Instead of even wanting to locate a key, she focused her chakra into her feet and launched herself over the gate.


The second Sugi landed she took up the Gentle Fist stance and looked around. No chara signals yet, she thought as she signaled Aoi to do the same. Sugi continued to move foward slowly, although realizing that coming here might be a bad thing if Sugi was to become low on chakra. She looked up ahead, at thousands of explosive tags that were pepped and ready to explode. Sugi gasped, and de-activated the Byakugan out of fear.

Aoi nodded and followed Sugi's suite, jumping over the fence. Only, she really didn't make it. She ended up hitting the top of the fence, a foot from the of it. Aoi grunted as she fell back and landed on her back on the ground, still on the beginning side of the fence. Aoi hit her head, and finched.

" Sorry, Sugi, I'll be over in a second, my jumping skills ar-...woah. " that's when Aoi saw it, still behind the fence. The thousands of explosive tags on rigged up infront of Sugi. Aoi narrowed her eyes, pulling herself from the ground.

Concentrating chakra into her hand, she quickly dispelled the aching pain that was forming in her head. She silently thanked her father for teaching her the simple jutsu to heal. Cracking her knuckles, she tugged at her shorts, making them as long as possible under her skirt. Pulling a wide grin on her face she walked up to the fence and reached her arms up, high as possible and grabbed on to it. She hoisted herself up, already half way up the fence and placed her feet in the small holes in the fence. climbing up she got to the top, before flinging herself over it. For a split second she was happy, grinning like a mad man in the air for getting over the high fence, until she realized it.

She had over shot the jump and was headed straight for the mass of explosive tags.

'oh shit...'

Aoi immediately reflexed and leaned back, trying to get back. It seemed to work, as Aoi quickly landed. Though, it wasn't a steady landing, and she started to trip over her boots. Aoi's eyes went wide as she started to stumble, headed towards the explosive tags. She yelped out, falling to the ground.

She landed, with a grunt, a mere couple inches of the nearest tag. Aoi took a deep breath, and slowly crawled away from the tags. Climbing slowly up, Aoi never took her eyes off of tags. Slowly getting up, she stood beside Sugi, wide eyed.

" Wowww.... That could of been bad. " Aoi turned her head to Sugi, then back to the tags. They seemed to cover most exits to get by in this particular spot, and the only holes were...tiny.

" So. Sugi-chan... How do we get out? "

"Well...I would say we...get...out after we get the correct diary.", she said. "As long as my Byakugan is activated I can see anything that has chakra circulating in it, which means this mission won't be entirely as difficult as it seems to be right now, Aoi-Chan.", Sugi said as she contiued looking around. She spotted several teams of two, composed of dogs. These dogs were very large, and appeared to be very aggressive as two of the dogs tore apart a cat, something Aoi didn't have to see. Sugi was horrified, and had a disgusted look on her face.

She looked to the right, noticing it was clear of any dogs. "C'mon, we'll go right...", she said before taking a closer look and finding a fainter chakra source. It was less potent than the dogs here, and Sugi couldn't think of what it could be....until....

Until Sugi took notice to a red hair sticking out of a box. Well, I guess that direction isn't going to be the best option, Sugi thought as she looked to the right. It was worse, because even steping on the thin ground would cause a chain reaction to destroy the dump.

"Aoi-Chan, I'm starting to think our Sensei wants us dead.", she said as she pointed to the right. The tags were hidden to the average eye, but Sugi knew what was under there. "If we're gonna go through, we'd be better jumping from garbage pile to garbage pile.", she suggested. Afew dogs began moving around, and it bacme obvious to Sugi that however owned the dump didn't place the tags.

Several dogs went flying into the air, scattering blood, bone and organ around the dump yard. A lifeless dog head landed in Sugi's arms, causing her to scream and fall backwards after dropping it. Blood had landed in her hair, and it had begun running down her face, and into her mouth. She spit the blood out, and then climbed the onto the garbage.

Aoi resisted the urge to vomit. She hated blood and seeing the dog's head land on Sugi has almost pushed her over the edge. Something had to be done about these wild dogs here. She didn't even WANT to know what Sugi saw with her Byakugan. Aoi sometimes was glad she didn't have a kekkai genkai. They showed you things that sometimes you didn't always want to see, whether "seeing it " was as literal as the Byakugan or not.

Aoi sighed and reached into the small bag attached to her belt. She pulled out a white rag, almost like a tissue. She turned to Sugi, in medic mode.

" Go ahead and get that blood off of you. Bodily fluids, human or not, are filled with all kinds of nasty stuff. It'll get you sick..plus it's gross. "

She handed Sugi the rag, and started talking again, " Just keep it, when you're done. Wash it and use it again. It's made for cleaning up... bio-hazardous fluids. "

Aoi grinned and nodded to her. " We should get going. If my assumptions are correct, the dogs will have a hard time climbing the grab age piles. We should stay atop of them for as long as possible. And let's also try not to gather attention of any Academy drop-outs while we're here. It'd be easier that way. Keep your Byakugan activated for as long as possible, please, and look for anything that might come our way. "

She paused and glanced around her. " Sugi, do you see the easiest way to get up on this pile? "

It was the pile infront of them, and the biggest around them. It'd be good to see a higher view of the dump as a whole. Aoi cracked her wrists unconsciously and glanced around for anything they could use. Nothing, but that was to be expected. Aoi took a deep breath.

She immediately regretted it. The stench of the dump wasn't as predominate as before, but now the strong oder was starting to take it's toll on Aoi's poor nose, and Sugi's, no less probably. Especially Sugi, since she was also now covered in ....dog blood, Aoi presumed. This air couldn't be healthy for one's lungs. It was probably filling their lungs now with nasty pathogens and ugly germs, just waiting to settle into their systems. Aoi's left eye twitched.

" Let's hurry this up... my medic side doesn't want us in this ..... dirty place for as long as we have too. What's the safest route, Sugi? "

Sugi accepted the tissue in a calmer manner. She wiped the blood from her face, ignoring the fact there was blood in her hair, because neither one of them wanted to stay in the dump any longer than they already had. After putting the tissue into one of her pockets, she looked at Aoi. "Thank you, Aoi-Chan.", she said softly in her normal tone.

Even if Sugi was a little off edge after the explosion of several dogs, she couldn't let that get to her at this time. She looked around, but noticed that in the heat of the moment, she had deactivated her Byakugan. Making the hand seal, sugi closed her eyes. "Byakugan.", she said as her eyes opened, iris becoming more visibil and large viens bulging lateral to her eyes.

She looked foward, where not one of the explosive tags where left. She also took a note on the Academy Students that she couldn't find anymore. They probably were scared away, by the explosion, she thought. Other than the giant crater she seen, there was not a chakra signal anywhere near the direct route through the dump.

"Aoi-Chan, the safest route is straight ahead, it seems the explosion scared away the drop-outs and guard dogs, and there's no more explosive tags.", she sad as she focused chakra into her feet, then jumped. Sugi looked for something softer to fall on, and instead, landed and a wooded chair. It broke of course, and Sugi didn't know that she would have a splinter in her arm, because her sweater barely covered it.

She smiled about the landed, then looked up. She continued climbing up, leaping from stable object to stable object. And Sugi didn't always land the best way every time, but she tried to make it a decent landing. It took her a few minutes more than she thought, also knocking a diary that she didn't see off the pile and down to Aoi, but she reached te top.

Aoi's eyes shot down, focusing at the book that lay at her feet. It was old, and covered in grime from the nasty environment they were in. The book was made from a dark brown leather and yellow pages stuck out from the sides. Aoi's eyebrow lifted and picked the small book up. It was light in her hands, but rough. It had indention on the spine, obviously from it's use. Its pages were bound shut by a small leather belt, locking together on the front with a small lock on it.

Looking up, Aoi went ahead and started climbing. She placed the small book in her belt-bag's pock. She jumped up, using different pieces of furniture to hold her balance. Aoi got up there easily enough, not slipping or falling. She glanced at Sugi and held out the small book.

" Think this is it? What was the name of the obaa-chan again? " Aoi said, referring to the old woman that wanted them to attain her lost book.

Aoi held it out, looking at it again, between the two of them. It was bigger than Aoi's hand, but not too much. ( She had small hands, anyways) The brown leather looked old and rustic. Aoi didn't want to open it, because she believed that the old woman wanted her privacy. Aoi knew that, even if it was lost, she wouldn't want some random ninja reading her deepest thoughts. Not that she had a diary, Aoi was much too.... impatient to write it all down. She'd rather go to the nearest person and rant about her feelings.

Sugi had looked down at Aoi to see what had been taking up her time. Instead of finding it to be some problem that could be easily handled, Sugi took into account the old, rusted and dirt cover diary that Aoi had. Sugi thought back, remembering she knocked it down as she jumped up.

Looking more closely, she had noticed that the diary was locked and might have someone's dearest secrets inside. Sugi de-activated the Byakugan, and sighed as Aoi jumped up, from furniture to furniture, making the landings perfectly, or more so better that Sugi had performed herself.

Sugi watched, no more like examined the old and rusted diary when Aoi held it in between them. She looked around for a name, remembering that the clients name had been, Fion Madrith.

I can't seem to find any sign of her name, the book it too old and dirty to be able to read anything, Sugi thought as she shook her head. "Hey name was Fion Madrith, but I can't seem to find any name on the book, it's too dirty to even be able to make out whether it's a diary or a book.", Sugi said with a disappointed look.

They had done good on their previous mission, and Sugi wanted to keep a perfect record, because she felt like it could mean something. She began reflecting on her village. Not Kumogakure, not Ame or Taki, but Konoha. It had been a long time since she even wanted that place to cross her mind. It branded her a criminal to Konoha if she ever went there, but Kumo obviously felt different about what she had done.

"Aoi-chan, what does the spine of the book say?", she asked as she noticed small fancy writing that Sugi had just noticed.

Aoi turned the book over in her side. She ran a finger on the spine of it. The words were etched into the side of the book carefully and in beautiful handwriting. Aoi's eyes squinted as she tried to read the letters. The old book's words looked like they had been once painted with gold paint, to highlight the letters. Aoi blinked once.

The words seemed to go something like this " Fio Ma it." The book was so old and corroded, that Aoi could barely make out that much, but it was enough. A wide grin pulled it's way onto her face. They had found it, and so easily too.

" This is it, Sugi-chan! " Aoi said happily as she showed her the words. " The spine says it all! "

Aoi was ecstatic. It had been so easy. Easier than expected, of course. Aoi was expected a hard day of work, digging through piles and piles of nasty garbage. And, being the germ-o-phobe she was, that was the LAST thing Aoi EVER wanted to do.

Especially in Kumogakure no Sato's weather. It was bound to rain any second and Aoi didn't want to be wet AND running through abunch of trash to get home. It was awful, this weather. Always raining, and when it wasn't, it was a heavy overcast. Aoi sighed. Like it was now. It was going to rain, Aoi could feel it.

And as if on cue, it started raining. Aoi cursed under her breath and took the old book and put it into an interior jacket-pocket. She wanted to keep it dry in fear of it dissolving altogether in the rain. As it started to pour, Aoi looked to Sugi, ziping up her jacket, for once covering her exposed mid-drif.

" Sugi-chan! Let's go! It won't be good to stay here in the rain. We'll go out the same way we came in! "

With that being said, Aoi started her way down, jumping from stable object to stable object, careful not to slip in the now soaked garbage jungle. It smelled worse now than it did before. Probably because the rain had started moving around nasty junk that now reveled ugly smells into the air. Aoi tried not to gag. She heard dogs barking, seeming to be getting closer. She cursed under her breath.

Aoi was more of a cat person.

Big dogs scared her, too.

And as the huge, masculine dog came running around the corner, Aoi tried not to squirm away. He was in a bee-line towards Aoi and barking wildly. His, or her, big teeth shined bright in the cloudy rain. It was a big black dog and scrambled to a stop infront of Aoi, about 10 meters away. Aoi stood still, glaring at it.

" Nasty dog, aren't you? " It growled at her.

Aoi smirked, glancing at Sugi who was still up on the garbage pile, no doubt worried for her. She returned her eyes to the dog, who's head lowered and bared it's teeth. It released a low growl at her. Aoi smirked again, this time sliding out a kunai.

" Come. "

The dog started barking wildly and charged toward Aoi. Aoi's smirk turned into a grin and her eyes widen with excitement. She needed abit of training to day. Aoi jumped over the dog as it came at her. It scrambled to a stop again, trying to figure out where she went. Aoi, midjump flash stepped to the other side of the small clearing they were in. She seemed to slide alittle on her landing, the rain making the landscape more slippery. She grunted and steadied her balance as best she could. The same clearing that before was littered with explosive tags, now served as their battleground. Aoi glanced around again as the dog started to come to it's senses. The rain hindered her eyesight, but not too much. When she spotted what she wanted, Aoi smirked wildly. The dog, which was male, Aoi noticed, spotted her finally and growled. 'took the damn thing long enough..

Aoi bounded to the left, headed toward another garbage pile and dived for something as the dog once again shot towards her. With the rain, it was hard for Aoi to make a safe landing, and almost seemed to slide when she landed. Aoi landed on the muddy ground, snatching something up and hiding it in her sleeve. The dog pounced at her, headed to land on top of Aoi. Aoi rolled out of the way, ignoring the fact that she was rolling in the disgusting trash around her and muddy water that was slowly becoming more prominent. The dog landed, splashing up rain water before quickly going after her again. This time, he tried to bite at her. Aoi pulled out the same kunai, and reflected the dogs attack, hitting his teeth with her kunai. She was still grinning like a mad man and her hair stuck to the sides of her neck and jacket, something she tended to do in the heat of battle. (Even if battle was with a dog) Her bangs attached themselves to her face, and Aoi quickly flicked them away.

The dog bit at her once more and Aoi, instead of deflecting with her kunai, dodged by jumping over the dog as he jumped at her. She did a front flip over the dog, and noticed his collar. She landed, grinning even wider and her wet hair whipping around.

That collar was the key to every thing. The dog slide to a stop and whipped around to face her again. He bared his sharp and nasty looking teeth. Aoi's eyes narrowed, glaring at the thing, even with her mad-man grinning going on.

" You should really brush your teeth. Nasty mutt. "

The dog, being prideful in every way seemed to take offense and let out a low growl. He once again ran at her. Aoi smirked. It was exactly what she wanted. As the dog came close, he jumped with his mouth open, ready to bite at her. Aoi was one step ahead and jumped over the dog, slipping her kunai under the dog's collar twice and out. And she landed, a string attached to the kunai. On the other side of the string, was the explosive tag. As she steadied her landing, she pulled on the string sharply, eyes starting to narrow. This HAD to work.

Aoi only watched, with eyes still narrowed and a grin on her face, as the dog exploded with the tag. The red and yellow flames shot out, lighting up the area around them. Any fires started by it were quickly set out, and all that remained was the scorched body of the dog.

" Got'cha. "

Aoi didn't WANT to kill the dog, but how else was she supposed to get rid of it? Throw rotton meat at it? No way was she touching that shit. Throw a trashed ball? Still, no way was she touching that. Ask it to kindly let them be? As if.

As the rain kept going down, Aoi turned, not looking at the now dead dog. Aoi sighed, face darkening with her bangs falling into her face and motioned for Sugi to come along.

" Sugi-chan, let's go. "

Aoi then jumped onto the fence, knowing Sugi would follow. The fence was cold and wet, but she ignored it. Aoi pulled herself up the fence. She once again climbed it effortlessly and jumped over the top. Landing on the other side, Aoi grunted with the landing. She stretched her back out, leaning forwards and backwards. She then unzipped her jacket, and pulled out the diary to inspect it again. As good as they found it. Aoi smiled to herself and put it back. Turning to Sugi, she grinned.

" Sorry you had to see that... I didn't know how to get rid of it. Looked like a miserable soul anyways. May it rest in peace. " Aoi's eyes closed at the last statement. She wasn't a religious person, but she only found it right to have a moment for the dog. It wasn't his choice to be a deadly guard dog anyways.

" Anyways, Sugi-chan. Looks like mission accomplished. Let's go check in about this and return the book. Then I'M going to take a three-day-long shower... "

And with that, Aoi's usual grin returned.

Sugi smiled at Aoi at the very mention that they had succeeded in such a filthy and dirty enviroment that could kill just about anyone. Even after the explosive tags, Academy Student Drop-Outs, and fercious dogs, Sugi was smiling when the rain came falling down.

It had made Sugi's day better, as she made sure Aoi had the book before the two darted off towards the entrance. Unfortunately, Sugi had lost sight of Aoi, and stopped. "Byakugan!", the young women called as her viens and eye again changed. Instead of finding Aoi, she found four dogs charging as her from behind.

She was obviously out-numbered, but Sugi couldn't give up right now, not when she and Aoi were so close. Right, Aoi's missing, wait, there she is, fighting another dog, she thought as she continued to see through her Byakugan. The four dogs all jumped at Sugi, but he wouldn't have any of that.

Her long black-bluish hair spun as she utilised her clan's Heavenly Spin technique, or as she liked to call it Rotation. It sent all four dogs into nearby garbage traps, rendering them useless. She took off again as she noticed Aoi had killed the other dog.

She caught back up with Aoi, in time to witness it's death. Aoi took off again and Sugi continued onwards, quickly jumping over the fence as her Byakugan retreated. She listened to Aoi about the dog, and sugi closed her eyes for a moment in respect, before hearing Aoi talked about her 3-day shower.

Sugi smiled softly at the remark. You always seem to be able to look at the positives, it's kind of jealous of me to be lie this, Sugi thought. She truely believed Aoi was a capable individual, and Sugi herself was starting to become that as well.
