To begin with, all members of the clan seem to have black spiky hair and soft boyish faces. Also they are usually of a lighter build and not muscular. They tend to have lower chakra reserves, but a very high chakra control to make up for it. Typically, it is the men who become ninja, but every so often a woman will join the ranks as well. All the men are classified genius's with IQ's that are generally higher then the mark of 200. They tend to be lazy and unwilling to work however, but they do have a strong will and hold greatly the term "comrade" as one of the most important words in their vocabulary.

The focus of their jutsu is a secret to other ninja, and only they can utilize it. The jutsu focus on the manipulation and control of their own shadow. Largely this revolves around one singular jutsu known as the Kage Mane or otherwise called Shaodw Imitation (see clan jutsu for more info), and this branches off into other various techniques. By Connecting their shadows to other shadows, they can cause the target to freeze by using chakra and the shadows as a medium for their control. When caught in this the opponent will mimic any movement the caster makes, but speech and thought remains independent. The opponents chakra system is also unaffected by this. Furthermore they can stretch their shadows a considerable length, up to 10m in total past its normal length, whatever that may be at the time by thinning the shadow out. This of course is not usable during the times of night. They can also use the shadows of other things to extend the length of their own by again using the shadows as a medium. They can not use lesser shadows for this, in other words, a shadow which is fainter then their own shadow, to extend it. Also it only extends by the length of the shadow it passed through and does not actually increase the size of their shadow.

Description:Kage Mane no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. It's original purpose was as a skill to help delay any pursuers. After forming the needed hand seals, the clan member is able to manipulate their shadow along any surface. By using other nearby shadows they can further extend the reach of their shadow, however they are limited to the surface area of the original cast shadow. Once the clan members shadow reaches the target shadow, it will attach itself. While attached the target will be frozen, only able to replicate in mirror form the actions of the clan member. If the clan member is low on chakra, the Kage Mane will falter and the shadow will return to its normal form. This drains a D rank amount of chakra for every post that the target is kept with in it and escalates to a C rank amount or more if the opponent tries to fight it depending on the extent to which they attempt to fight it off.

Description:Kage Kubi Shibari no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique developed by the Nara clan. To perform the technique the clan member will first bind their target using the Kage Mane no Jutsu technique. Once the target can no longer move, they form the needed hand seal to initiate this technique. The clan member uses their shadow to form a hand which will creep up their opponents body to their neck. Once the hand reaches the neck, it will constrict in such a manner so as to strangle the opponent. However, the clan member will need to be careful. If their target has a lot of chakra, they can turn back the shadow hand and prevent it from binding their neck.

Description: This technique utilizes specialized weapons which are able to absorb the users chakra and then take on the Nara clans ability to bind people via there shadow. By implanting the shadow chakra enhanced weapon into the shadow of the target, they will be frozen in place; just as if they were caught in one of the clan members extended shadow bindings. The length of time depends on how much chakra was placed into it. C rank- 2 post. B - 4 posts. A-7 Posts. S- 10 Posts. By increasing the number of weapons in the shadow you increase the number of posts they will remain frozen for.

Description:To perform the technique the user will first form the needed handseal to extend his shadow. The user will then change the handseal to cause the shadow to emerge from the ground in tendrils. The tendrils can extend and whip about and are strong enough to pierce nearby targets.

Description: Similar to the Shadow Sewing Technique, the user breaks their shadow into tendrils. Unlike the Shadow Sewing Technique, which exclusively ties down the opponent, the Shadow Endgame Technique's tendrils can grasp and manipulate objects. This gives the Shadow Endgame Technique a wide variety of uses. There are no hand seals used for this technique, but the hand movements resembles those used in Sand Binding Coffin.

The Nara clan is known for their manipulation of shadows and tending of deer, which graze in a large area of Nara clan forest. They have kept a book with medicine preparations and effects for generations which imply they are skilled in the area of medicine. Among the medicine described in this book are the secret pills used by the Akimichi clan. Despite being considered geniuses, the men from this family are prone to being lazy and hard to motivate. Ironically, they tend to be attracted to stern, overbearing women. However, there appear to be other factors as well. The Nara men seem to hold women in high esteem, and as a result, willingly defer to their female partners. An old Nara quote states "Without women, men can't be born. Without women, men go to ruin. Even the hardest of women will show a sweet side to the man she loves and respects."

The Nara clan seems to have a special relationship with the Akimichi clan and Yamanaka clan. Members of these three families have formed an "Ino-Shika-Cho trio," quite often, named after the first part of the names of the members. The Nara members are the Shika in the trio. "Ino," "Shika" and "Cho" are the names of three cards needed for a highly prized trick of "Inoshikacho" in the Hanafuda

Personality:

Shiori is usually a kind, extremely loving young adult, so much that she is extremely emotional. This issue is so bad that the little things that you say will drive her insane and might even bring her close to tears. Although at times she can seem very sad, and scared, she is mostly a very hyper, fun-loving person.

While some people are a "too themselves" kind of people, Shiori is positively an open book; ask her anything, and she'll usually tell you. Also, she seems very innocent, doing most things like a kid would, ranging from silly little games like slug bug or even announcing the obvious. To go with her child-like attitude, a lot of things just seem to go over her head, making her seem dumb in comparison to most people.

If she didn't seem ditsy or even dumb already, Shiori has those odd and random occurrences where she'll just start belting out her favorite songs or even her least favorite songs and start dancing to them. This usually always happens at times when she is bored or even when she is extremely scared, to help get things off her mind. Even though this may seem embarrassing, it does make for an interesting time.

When she is called to do her duty however, her entire personality seems to change, and become more focused, more confident. She is a sight to watch in battle, and can actually be very blunt and out spoken in such scenarios, her mind being focused on something else than the supposed flaws that have been pointed out to her throughout her life. Her true self shines in these moments; a confident, intelligent, courageous woman who cares for people.

History:

Shiori was born in Kumogakure in her very own home. Unlike most mothers who believed in going the easier route and having birth at a hospital, Mai believed in making a publicity stunt for her fans and having a home birth. This was just the start for poor little Shiori in all the wild things her mother was going to do. In fact everything got so wild, that by the time Shiori was six her mother was already in rehab, and would be in there for a very long time. Though the longer she stayed in there, the more money came in.

Since all this money kept coming in, and Mai was nowhere to be seen, Hazirami decided to be a stay at home dad and take care of Shiori. He did take it a bit too far and made sure that she never left the house without him to assist her. To make up for it, he let Shiori follow into his footsteps and become a shinobi. Even though she was forced into the life of being a kunoichi, she didn't mind. She actually had a knack for it and found it enjoyable so she kept at it, and even graduated top of her class.

By the time she was 13, she actually went on her first mission, which was a simple capture the rabbit mission, but she did it with honor and finished it within hours. From there, she was on her to being a great genin. Everyday, all day she trained constantly, wanting to be a chuunin. She was training so hard that she never even noticed that her father was becoming ill; he was getting worse and worse. Right before the chuunin exams, her father died from an unknown virus. This devastated Shiori, and changed her outlook on life.

Soon she was getting into the wrong crowd. She even took a break from being a shinobi. Everything just kept getting worse and worse in her life, and to top it all off, her mother was finally back from rehab, only to wind up going back on her career and leaving Shiori behind. This put Shiori into an even worse frame of mind which got her into deeper trouble.

One day, while she was out with her new boyfriend, he decided to take her out in the middle of nowhere to look at the stars. But, he wasn't there just to look at the stars, soon he was grabbing her, wanting her; but she was scared and didn't want this. Soon, he was hitting her, and all her shinobi training came back to her. Grabbing ahold of his left arm she snapped with a sickening pop. Before the guy could recover himself she sent a quick left upper cut into his jaw, and ran back to her home.

Once she got there, there was her mother waiting for her. She told Shiori that she was meant to be a shinobi and needed to go back and do the chuunin exams. All of this just didn't seem right in her eyes, but she reluctantly admitted that her mother was right,because of what had happened a few hours earlier. After grieving together of her father's death, Mai left and rarely came around again, but it didn't seem to bother Shiori like it used to.

After that horrible day, Shiori decided she wanted to start over. With the money she kept receiving from her mother, she bought herself a new wardrobe, got new friends, and changed her entire outlook on life. Just a few months ago Shiori went back to try out the chuunin exams, which were being placed in Konoha. The first part of the test was the written part, which was easy for Shiori even though she was a bit rusty; but what else would you expect from a Nara?

The next test was a bit more of a challenge, and since Shiori didn't exactly have a team to do the Forest of Death with, she got placed with two other random shinobi. They started out with the Earth scroll and had to look for the heaven scroll. They searched and searched, but they just couldn't find anybody. So, being smart they went to where the checkpoint was and waited for people who already had both scrolls, and a younger group appeared. Using the world-reknown Nara technique, Kage Mane no Jutsu, she stopped the genin in their tracks and took their scrolls. Then Shiori's teammates dispatched of the younger group and they were off to the next test.

Luckily, there were only 6 genin who made it to this half of the exam, counting her squad. Each of the genin only had to fight once before going to the second half of the tournament part of the exam, and Shiori was the first to fight. Again luck was on her side because the genin she had to fight passed out as soon as it began from total fear. This was to her disliking though and she begged the chuunin exam prospector to give her another fight, but they declined. Although she passed her other two teammates failed, making her move up to the second half while they stayed genin. Again Shiori was set to be the first to fight. An epic battle was underway, which lead to Shiori standing victorious while her opponent was sent straight to the hospital with medical ninja. Soon the numbers were dwindling until the final battle was under way. This battle came within the same results; Shiori standing over her beaten opponent. Shiori was the only one that time to pass the chuunin exams.

Now Shiori is a chuunin, and this is where her story is now.
