Akiko Uchiha va Renjiro Kyoya (semi final)

The forecast for this match was windy with a high risk of heavy rain. Currently in the arena the wind was minimal (5MPH) and an average temperature of 2 degrees Celsius. There was a large crowd for the upcoming jounin Semi-final and the previous impressive performances from the previous rounds by both the genin and chuunin's. Renjiro was wearing his typical full black suit with white shirt and slim black tie, shiny black shoes, wearing his cloud rings and under his shirt is his pendant.

As Renjiro walked into the arena he was greeted with a massive round of applause. Renjiro was well know around most of the hidden villages due to his involvement with Vongola and his style of fighting. As he reached the centre of the 2 mile long he turned in all directions bowing to all four corners of the arena. However as he walked to the centre he took note of the arena...

'Hmn tall trees in the forest ... lake in the edge of the top left corner with a stream running straight through the forest. They really have thought of everything here' He thought as was standing there laughing to himself and getting his tonfas ready for his opponent to arrive and present themselves.

Akiko yawned a little as the time for her... their match approached, it was already getting late, well into the afternoon and drawing closer to night already, something she prefered. It was getting rather... annoying, but Yamiyo had insisted, wanting her to brush up on her skills since she had been inactive in the field of fighting as of late... And she suppose he was right. She hadn't really fought anyone in awhile and if she didn't practice she might lose her touch. She might be a Konoha nin at the moment, a Jounin at that, but that didn't necessarily mean she was loyal to Konoha... not full heartedly anyway. And thus, there were no signs of her being involved with Konoha unless you recognized her for transfering to Konoha in the past few days or so. Besides, she was still dressed in her normal attire: tank top, shorts, a scarf, and a cloak. She probably should've worn the long sleeved shirt and pants but... ehh it wasn't like the weather was seriously going to bother her. She could stand the cold for awhile and the rain too she supposed... Bleh... rain...

Yawning a little behind her scarf that masked the lower portion of her face, Akiko walked through the ever annoying brightly lit hallways to the arena where she saw a youngish looking man bowing to the spectators. At least outside it wasn't as bright... what with the storm clouds gathering and all. She was surprised it hadn't started to rain yet, but it was probably for the best. Getting wet was something she'd rather not do soon...

'Interesting arena... to think that they implanted a forest here along with a water system. I wonder how handy this will come in... We'll see, won't we?' 'True... so do you want help this time? Or should I just sit back?' 'Help some, Yamiyo. You need practice too.' 'Mmm fine...'

Slinking out of the shadows, Akiko let herself be more easily seen by the proctors and her opponent. "Renjiro Kyoya versus Akiko Uchiha," started the proctor, calling Renji's attention to the battle at hand. He waited a few seconds for them to talk to one another if they wanted, not like Akiko was going to... before continuing. "You may now begin." And as the proctor finished starting the match, Akiko slid into the forest along that of a advanced Chuunin's speed and soon enough hid herself within the forest, keeping a tab on Renji. She didn't quite feel like getting up close and personal with him yet... plus those tonfas looked a bit menacing, as did his hold on them. He clearly knew how to use them.

'You did do research on him, didn't you?' '... ... ... Yeah... sure...' '... You forgot to, didn't you?' 'Sorry, I just glanced over some notes about him. I'll share them though...' he replied, beginning to tell her what he knew about Renji: almost nothing except that he was from Kumo, was part of the Vongolas, and had different techniques from the normal ninja. What he knew of the Vongolas: mafia based, bosses, and guardians. Yeah... not helpful at all.

The light of the day was closing to a end as the pair locked eyes on each other. As the pair locked their gazes it seemed like hours for Renjiro. He gazed into her eyes looking for something ... a glimpse of hope that she wasn't a pure hearted killer like he was. He saw exactly what he was looking for and as the announcer said 'Begin' Renjiro disappeared running backwards at his full speed backwards towards the other side of the clearing as his opponent went the other side.

When backing off to the starting of the forest on his side (whilst maintaining a certain fix on his opponents rough position) he threw three precisely thrown kunais with explosive tags wrapped around each one with a smoke bomb attached to a it with a piece of string. As soon as it the three kunais got close to where Renjiro thought his opponent was he would form the tiger seal making the tag explode. "KATSU!" he would say as the kunais exploded and the smoke bombs would release. This would create a big explosion with a smoke field covering a 15 meter radius of the explosion site. 'Setup One' he thought as the smoke rose Renjiro made sure to keep his eyes on the smoke making sure to note any movements of the smoke itself.

Just in-case his opponent had created a clone to attack from behind him or used backing off into the forest as a diversion for something else he had his tonfas ready and primed for defensive actions. However if he would see a movement in the smoke he would sprint instantly towards 8 meters in front of the moving smoke and go full force in with an attack. As he would get close to the smoke his Vongola ring and Skull cloud ring would both start to glow.

She watched silently as Renji backed off into his own side of the forest. She'd really rather prefer it if he came for her but... ehh things don't work out how you want them to all the time. She spied the kunai easily enough and wanted to just let them pass by and just barely reach her, but something seemed off about the way they were flying towards her. A bit wary, she moved a little further back than she normally would for simple weaponry and was glad she did because of the kunais soon went off and she heard Renji's voice off ahead of her. Closing her eyes briefly, but maintaining a sort of track of Renji through being aware of where his emotions were, she let the debris caused by the explosion pass by harmlessly enough, wrapping her cloak about her unprotected arms a little from the wood shaving of the trees.

Asides from defending herself she hadn't really made a move... yet. She was wary of him because Yamiyo had mentioned the Vongola were an old family, so she suspected he either had old family techniques (explaining his some what unique jutsus) or old family heirlooms that were definitely far from the norm. Hnn what to do, what to do? The smoke really wasn't much of problem, it was sort of just like Kirigakure no Jutsu and she was used to that.

She was expecting him to come for her, so her hand went to her family tanto, currently disguised as a normal katana, and silently pulled it from its sheath. She made very little movements, knowing they could easily be detected in the faint light because of the smoke's movement, but she did toss out some kunai of her own at Renji, choosing their path with some help from the wind to guide them through the smoke so that they wouldn't be easily detected and charging them slightly with a layer of raiton chakra. They weren't necessarily aimed to kill, more like maim and disable. They wouldn't be easy to dodge because so long as he was coming towards her and within relative range to her, she could control the wind easily enough and with little effort to guide them to Renji.

In the meantime, she'd wait for him to come to her with the tanto ready, but not necessarily evoked with her Hatake chakra... yet. She also had a jutsu in the midst of being utilized for closer combat, having some lightning chakra build up in her body, but she'd have to wait and see if he'd be within range first. Hopefully he would, then it'd be rather easy to attack him since he'd be paralyzed... If not, she could always go for the offensive...

The three kunai exploded and the smoke bombs released there smoke creating a blank spot for both of them. As Renjiro ran in towards the smoke, with his Tonfas up (covering his face and upper chest), and his cloud rings activated and glowing with their flames. He was now 15 meters away but Renjiro kept running in with his Tonfas raised and jumped spinning on the spot. His left Tonfas and forearm was covering the majority of his face and shoulders as he was jumping and spinning whilst thrusting his right fist (with his Vongola ring on) at the smoke. As he punched his fist a few flickers within the smoke appeared. Doing this extremely quick combo meant Renjiro was 8 meters in and released a huge spinning cylinder of purple flames as the kunais was 1 meter away from contacting with his Tonfas. The resulting contact with his purple flames meant all their lightning chakra was drawn out and now they was basic kunais which was easily pushed back with the A ranked jutsu. The jutsu moved extremely quickly at Akiko location due to Renjiros chakra sensing ability.

Renjiro purple flame jutsu would usually be 15 meters wide by 15 meters high and 10 meters deep but due to the rotation and the wind it was 20 meters wide by 20 meters high and 15 meters deep. As the jutsu flung towards his opponent Renjiro landed on the floor on one knee silently, scanning the area and the local environment for any sign of movement from his opponent.

'Interesting attack, I don't think we've ever seen anything like that...' thought Akiko as she moved further back when she first saw the flames and rapid changes in the smoke. 'Guess Satoshigan could come in handy...' thought Akiko as her eyes shifted and turned red beneath her hood, allowing her to see general chakra flow of a sense, but still not enough to fully understand what the technique was and how it worked. She'd need to see it a few more times to more properly understand what it was, and she doubted she'd be able to replicate it at all.

Purple flames, what the hell? And her lightning chakra was getting pulled away it seemed because they weren't on the kunai anymore either, great. Wind and lightning gone, she eyed the odd colored fire, moving further away aware that the fire thing was rather fast paced itself. 'I could try to dodge it all... but too much energy. That and I don't know what the hell that fire does. Does it suck up lightning chakra or just chakra in general?'

Now she was beginning to see what Yamiyo had meant by 'odd jutsu'. Dodging the flames looked nearly impossible from this standpoint, but she could sense Renji nearby... now all she had to do was move forward and towards him. She couldn't dodge the flames by just moving back... so why not move towards him? He wouldn't bring the flames that close to him, would he? Parts of her cloak had been caught by the flames, but she merely abandoned it, feeling the force of the wind on her bare skin. Maybe she should've worn the longer sleeved clothing after all. It was chilling, but in a good way. It was waking her up more and more, the cold.

Focusing on Renji through sensing his emotions and keeping mild track of chakra signatures, she zoomed towards him with her near inhuman speed, rather careful to dodge the odd branch or two that came crashing down as a result of his strange technique as well as the pockets of flames that had dispersed themselves from the main body of flames. It probably would've been impossible, but with Yamiyo as another set of eyes for her, it was relatively easy to see both ahead and behind of herself.

As she neared Renji, she obviously slowed down some and pulled out the tanto, the tanto glimmering slightly white in the faint light, as she aimed for various vital parts on Renji with her left hand, chakra still stored in her body and ready to be released at a moment's notice.

The blast of purple flames came directly at Akiko and she was simple running backwards to dodge them (So Renjiro thought). ‘Silly girl that isn’t going to...’ “WHAT THE--!” As he spoke the girl had appeared in front of the flames and towards Renjiro. It made no sense ... The flames wasn’t parted nor was there any sense of a substitution or a body flicker or space/time Ninjutsu ... ‘No it can’t be’ he thought as his opponents last name ringed into his head ‘Akiko Uchiha’ ... Renjiro was puzzled as to how she did this because nobody had dodged this attack EVER. Regardless he jumped up from his kneeling position with his Tonfas out now coated with a glowing purple flame on them. Akiko came running full force at Renjiro until she got close and then slowing down a bit but coming in with an attack with a tanto. ‘White chakra ...’ he thought as he blocked the glowing tanto with his left Tonfa but went to strike her in the ribs with his right Tonfa. As the two weapons clashed and sparked the purple flames was absorbing her white chakra as well as the chakra in his hand and body as it would have blasted at her hand and arm with the impact.

The other Tonfa, if it hit her in the ribs, would automatically rush through her entire body sucking out her chakra in an incredible rate and couldn’t be stopped due to the flames already being in contact with her skin (due to the direct contact). Renjiro would struggle against the tanto making sure he kept her there as the flames would continually drain off her chakra.

More of those odd colored flames, strange. As her disguised katana hit the man's tonfas she couldn't help but feel... a little... de-energized? No... what was it? Her chakra, it was weakening and fading and his own attack was getting stronger... no the flames. So the flames absorbed chakra, did they? Great. So most of her attacks would get degraded or rendered useless unless she used her more draining techniques.

Her eyes could see it, but she still didn't quite understand how his flames could do this. She was sure it had to do something with being a part of this Vongola Family Yamiyo spoke of, but no time to dwell on it. Having realized what his flames did, she had stopped using chakra to enhance the disguised blade. Why let him take any more, considering she had already felt a massive drop in her chakra reserves akin to that of an S Rank technique.

Her left arm was already quivering from having to keep his tonfa away from direct contact, despite her inhuman strength to boost the attack. She vaguely wondered if it had to do with his flames. This guy was definitely a fighter... and well versed. It would be hard to dodge him now, considering the relative distance between them and that her defensive jutsu in place wouldn't work well becaue of those chakra absorbing/reducing flames.

A warning from Yamiyo made her more aware of the other tonfa coming in direct contact with her body, thinking quickly, she re-channelled her chakra to her free hand and applied more chakra to let a wolf of lightning emerge and attack Renji whilst she herself staggered back some from the force of the wolf emerging and Renji's attack, putting distance between themselves and ignoring the pain and additional chakra loss. So, he had taken about two S Ranks worth of chakra from her, great.

The pain was mostly radiating out around her lower chest and upper abmoden. Her ribs felt bruised at the very least, heavily bruised, but she didn't think they were in bad shape yet. No doubt breathing would become a bit of a pain, but at least he hadn't actually cut her or anything. Not to mention her hands were a bit cut up themselves, one because of his technique, and the other because of her own technique since she hadn't properly prepared it. Ade, and blast that strange fire. Her top more or less caught in its flames she noted these flames seemed different from regular flames as well, so not actual fire itself maybe? Shrugging it off, and bearing the pain of these flames, yet not flames, she whipped out a kunai and slit up her tank top, letting it fall to the ground. Did she enjoy showing off her body? Not really. She just wasn't one to care all that much about clothing when it came right down to it. She could afford to lose it, as well as the hairband. But her hand, well hand and lower arm.... Ahh just ignore it for now. Maybe it'd die off on its own?

She wanted to attack him, but she knew she wouldn't be able to deal considerable close range damage unless she figured out how to avoide those flames... Vaguely she wondered how much chakra the man had left and how taxing the jutsu was on him. Normally techniques along this line couldn't be used repeatedly over long periods of time or it'd become taxing on the user... Usually the ones she had met that used similar techniques to this used them to deflect the stronger attacks not... for all their base attacks. Looking him over again she took more steps back.

On the defensive now, focused more so on dodging and evading, she watched him, trying to see how he was able to do such things. She contemplated about switching with Yamiyo, but it was too early for that and she wasn't in a dire emergency yet. No need to get two bodies beat up when she could still take a few more hits. Wait... those flames focused on drawing on another's chakra.... Yamiyo...

She smiled a little behind her scarf as her eyes returned to their usual color. She might have just found a way to dodge this guy's flames. 'You up for it?' she asked Yamiyo before taking more strides back, deeper into the arena and the forest. It was dangerous but... she had to get away from him first, or at least disappear for a little bit. The forest would provide enough cover, no need to waste chakra utilizing Kirigakure when there was a forest and a darkening night.

It would be painful, navigating through the uneven forest with her injuries, but it'd be worth it if his flame's absorbtion/degration ability would be rendered useless. What would he think when he next saw them? 'You can fight him... can't you?' 'Of course.'

Renjiros plan worked and he hit a direct hit to Akiko’s ribs however at the last moment before hitting her Akiko let out a lightning jutsu at Renjiros shoulder. This was smart ... very smart and extremely quick thinking as it made Renjiro attack less powerful due to a lack of power from the shoulder and it also pushed the two apart just after contact. However Renjiro got a glance at Akiko’s face and saw her eyes and recognised the Kekkei Genkai.

As Akiko retreated Renjiros right arm drooped beside him as he dropped the Tonfa out of that arm. “GAH!” he screamed out as he grasped the inch deep v shaped cut on the top of his shoulder. “Dammnn it ... DAMMMMM ITTTTTT!!!” he shouted as he ripped the sleeve of his suit jacket straight off with his left hand and then bandaging it with that hand and his mouth. The pressure on the wound was great due to Renjiro’s own strength but this was a temporary solution and he would have to deal with it later.

His thoughts went back to the attack ‘I’m sure I hit her ... I’m sure I did ... how did she pull that off? HOW! ...WAS IT THAT STUPID FUCKING SHARINGAN! NO!! A COPY OF IT ....’ he then knelt there his eyes scanning where Akiko had retreated to and it then dawn on him ‘Who else has a Kekkei Genkai like that ... The Hatake ... So this is their Kekkei Genkai I’ve heard rumours of ... maybe that is how she dodged that last attack ... but I’m sure that two S rank amounts of chakra was drained from her ... and that jutsu must of been A rank or B rank after going through my flames to do this amount of damage.

Renjiro kept an eye on where he could sense a dimming and flickering chakra signature ... ‘It’s her ... it has to be ... it means I got her ... yes I got her ... her chakra signatures unstable meaning my jutsus was effective’. He could also sense a connection like feeling with his cloud dying will flames. ‘And she hasn’t found out how to put my flames out either ... result ... but what to do ... what to do... this shoulders screwed’ he tried to grip the Tonfa on the ground but as he did he winced dropping it immediately ‘damn it ... no strength at all ... She must of torn my deltoid muscle ... bitch ...’ whilst thinking all of this he was fixated at the chakra signature and its sudden change in fluctuation from erratic to stable but faint. ‘What the hell is she doing ... has she recovered already ... nobody could recover from such a quick drain in chakra maybe she has realised she’s beat and has calmed down’.

Kneeling there in the same place Renjiros rapid chakra usage fatigue was wearing off quickly and the pain from his injury was lessening due to getting used to it. He picked up his other Tonfa on the ground with his left hand and placed it in its holder on Renjiros right hip. ‘Can’t let that bitch get hold of it ...things would get tricky if they did ...’. Standing and staring at the area in which she was at he had his left hand and Tonfa out in a defensive manner with his right hand still drooping however his left Tonfa was still glowing with its purple flame (his right one had gone out after 10 seconds of Renjiro letting go of it) and both his rings was still emitting flames.

Yamiyo laughed a little on the inside as he sensed the pain that was still radiating slightly from Renji as well as annoyance and tints of anger and then... surprise? Something along those lines. 'Your attack hit him well, good, it makes my part easier,' he forwarded to Akiko, even though she could sense what he was thinking and feeling. She only grunted a little in response. Turning away from the real world for a second, he turned his attention to Akiko and found the flames on her still... burning. Odd. This didn't happen too much with real fire... Then again this wasn't real fire to begin with. A different kind of fire... a fire akin to the Uchiha's famed Amaterasu? Perhaps. He would ask if she were okay, but she wasn't in the mood to talk. She was anaylzing the previous moves they'd use and trying to figure out how his techniques worked.

Ahh well, he could afford to have her outta the fight for a little bit, especially if thinking so much about the fight might able to distract her from the pain. And it seemed it was working because she wasn't really registering the pain all too much. He waited a little to see if the man would come for them, but it seemed he was going to wait for them. Hmm interesting. Oh well, can't keep him waiting and no need to stay in the forest for long. Bad things happen when your opponent can use flames and you're in a highly flamable area, not to mention other things.

Walking at a calm pace, he approached Renji, staying within the shadows of the trees just so that the lower half of him could be seen. He eyed Renji, noting the makeshit bandages and faint scent of blood. Mmmm blood. Would he feed on this boy if they won? What did his blood taste like... blood of a warrior... Mmmm... It'd been awhile since he had had decent blood from those types. Hmm and his tonfas... one of them wasn't coated with those flames anymore. Interesting. And it belonged to the same arm that Akiko had damaged. Direct contact was needed to keep the flames alive, was it? Good to know, good to know...

Smiling faintly, he moved in on Renji full speed, utilizing his vampire-like speed to move in quickly and his inhuman strength to land powerful blows before zipping back out of range again. With any luck Renji wouldn't be able to follow his moves that easily, what with the speed and afterimages, or be able to dodge them that easily either. Kyuuketsukiken Ryuu was merely a style utilized strength and speed. He wasn't necessarily aiming to kill, not really aiming or targeting specific areas anyway. Just to land blows. The blows would add up and the damage accumulate to a point where his body wouldn't be able to handle it.

He hoped the man had a strong control over his emotions within, because if he didn't, Yamiyo would be able to sense the man thinking of plans or becoming more confident of an attack landing. He might not be able to read minds, but emotions were just as good. Even better when his opponent didn't know about this bloodline. Very few did.

Renjiro was still standing there staring into the forest ... his thinking deep and hidden deep within his mind. He managed to calm himself completely with a little meditation earlier and it worked wonders. 'Why ... why isn't she down and out for the count ... why ... there as to be a reason. She should be on the floor half dead suffering from extreme chakra usage. Why is she able to fight...' he would think as he would see a flickering image in the forest. 'She's making a move' he'd think as he readied himself for her.

BOOM! She was in front of him like a flash of lightning. 'Shit' he'd think whilst backing off aiming to block with his left arm and Tonfas whilst releasing a huge amount of cloud dying will flames from his body and extremely quickly filling outwards towards everything in a 5 meter radius. Renjiros' quick thinking should save him and drain Akiko of the last of her chakra considering the fact that she'd be extremely close and Renjiro could still try to dodge with his body and Tonfas but also he was using both his rings flames to a combination effect to suck her chakra and raise the jutsus ranking.

Well this bought Renjiro some time as the dome would stay in place for a little while meaning he was safe from virtually all Genjutsu, Kenjutsu and Ninjutsu. Renjiro was feeling the effects of overdoing it in this fight and as such was breathing deep and hard. ‘I can’t keep this up much longer ... I’m getting far too old for this ... especially after not long after that mission’. He’d look at Akiko hoping she’d collapse on the floor barely alive and too right ... three S rank jutsus worth of chakra being sucked out of you in a very short space of time will take its toll on anyone, even a sage. Hey, Renjiro was feeling it too and he had only been using B rank jutsus but a lot of them but on the other hand his own chakra usage was for combat unlike Akiko’s whose chakra had been sucked out and not used for battle or healing. Akiko was poorly matched up here but she was doing extremely well and she should be proud of living/standing this long.

He eyed the flames with distaste as he barely managed to stop himself from hitting the man in his attack, veering off target, the flames encased him of a sorts, but strangely he didn't feel... burned or anything. The force of the attack easily pushed him aside and up against the trees, which began to splinter and crack where he had impacted with them, but thankfully the vast majority of his body had escape damage from the wood due to his clothes. Even so, there were flecks of splinters that had sliced through his skin all too easily and even implanted themselves in some areas.

Mentally, he grimaced and cursed the young man, but he didn't show much pain from it. Bruised up, cut, bleeding, and a little numbed he stood up straight and took a quick glance at the flames across his body. Strangely, they were beginning to fade and he couldn't quite sense any pain or other effect. So... strange. His back was hurting as well as neck, mostly because of the wood splinters grafted into his skin... but he could ignore it for now, a little bit anyway. It would hurt like hell later, but ignore it for now. Ignore it.

Too late, he could feel the drain on Akiko and despite not wanting to, he needed to forfeit for now before Akiko completely lost all her chakra and would enter a comatose state and might never rise again. Granted, he might have been able to do it alone... but... ehh his priorities were Akiko first. It was already hard enough to communicate with her right now. "We'll forfeit," started Yamiyo out loud, loud enough for the proctor to hear.

"AKIKO UCHIHA HAS FORFEIT AND YOUR FINALIST IS RENJIRO KYOYA!!!!! WE NEED A MEDICAL TEAM HERE IMEDIATELY FOR THESE TWO!!!! the Proctor would say as he dashed to Akiko's side. By this time Renjiro had dispersed his cloud dome and had appeared by Akko’s side. He grabbed at her arm with his left hand and his Skull ring flared even brighter. "RENJIRO IT OVER! Renjiro only gave his death stare at the Proctor and he took a step back. The flames on Akiko’s body were being absorbed into the ring but it didn't give Renjiro anything in return. "She stable ... I've removed 99% of the cloud flames I could her skin and the cloud chakra from her organs. There is some still left deep inside her and I assume after surgery to remove those spike you consult a Vongola doctor as to treat this woman".

Renjiro stood up wincing as he did bowing to the crowds. "Cheers!" Renjiro then walked off as the crowds of people were still chanting the pair’s names. The fight wasn’t long but it was a short and intense battle of two highly skilled shinobi. A medical team would come and whisk Akiko to the hospital wing.
