practicing in the woods

As sweat was dripping down from Aois forehead she gripped her fists tighter and hit even harder than before. „I need to get stronger“ she thought to herself. With her blue eyes nearly glowing with concentration she kept on hitting. „common you can break this one too, just hit a little harder“ she said. Finally the last practice post she had put up broke and she jumped with joy to herself. Nobody had seen that side of her as she preferred to stay away from other people from the village. „blue eyed monster“ the kids had called her in school.

She dried of the sweat from her forehead and sat down. „now a nice book to exercise the mind“ she said to herself as she took up „history of weapons“ a book that was in her bag and started to read. Even though she was not in school anymore she preferred to read educational books rather than waste her time on love stories and humorous stories. One by one she read each page with great concentration, memorizing how each weapon was used and the names of each of the weapons, if they were out of date or still in use.

She looked up from her book into the sky and sighed, she had finished the book and was contemplating if she should practice again or go to the old couples place and eat, it would be dark soon and then she could practice some of her moves in the dark, but the old lady would get worried if she wouldn't show up for dinner. „after dinner“ she said to herself as she thought that it would be better to have eaten something before practicing. She stood up and grabbed her bag and put the book in it.

She made a quick look around herself. „you can never be too careful“ she said to herself. It was then when she noticed something sparkling on the ground by the bushes. As her curiosity brought her closer to the sparkly object she noticed it was a silver chained necklace with a bright blue gem in the shape of a water drop, she thought it was beautiful and put it around her neck, thinking that whoever lost it would identify it and ask for it back, she ran to the water and looked into it, her reflection showed that the necklace suited her perfectly. She wanted to find the owner but still she wanted to keep it for herself.

She started to walk home in hopes that she would not miss dinner, but she knew that her foster mother always kept some food for her if she was late. As she got home she said good evening to her foster parents and noticed that she was right on time, she then ate dinner with them quietly. After dinner her foster mother asked her where she had gotten that necklace and Aoi answered innocently „found it“, her foster mother nodded and asked what she was going to do after dinner. „practice“ she said, she always tried to keep her words as few as possible. After dinner she stood up and walked quietly out and back to the woods to practice her moves in the dark.
