Delivery Replacement Needed [Mission]

Today it was horrible outside because of the onslaught of the relentless rain pouring down onto the village of Konohagakure no Sato. There was no lightning in the air thus there would be no claps of thunder going through the air. It wasn't anything special though because Konohagakure no Sato had experienced weather like this before. The streets were extremely damp, though not to the point where water was building up in the streets like what would happen in a flash flood. The winds were blowing nearly 10 miles per hour or maybe a little more; therefore, it was not much of a hindrance to a young genin, but it might be a pain in some cases. Also because of the storm, it was dark outside, but it was mid-day so it was not too hateful. Overall, it was not very bad in contrast to what the weather could be like.

Yoshimaru looked out onto the streets as he ran along the streets dressed in mostly water proof type of clothes, like a wind breaker and such. The young genin received a mission that needed to be urgently done in a quick time. He has only 45 minutes to deliver some food from Ming's delivery because the worker was sick. Perhaps, he just didn't want to get wet because he was made out of sugar, which is a common expression meaning that he just did not want to be wet. Yoshimaru's living establishment was nearly 5 minutes from the delivery place; therefore, it would take about 7 minutes to reach Ming's and set off to the ninja apartments. Yoshimaru tried to speed up as much as possible by using the process of hydroplaning to go to a stop while trying to go around corners to increase energy efficiency. He always tried to conserve as much energy as possible because it could be crucial later.

Finally, Yoshimaru reached Ming's and the owner looked as if he was ranting from to Yoshimaru from afar. Ming's delivery looked extremely plain probably because they didn't get many costumers in the delivery place itself. The walks and ceiling was egg shell white and so was the outside of the building. Yoshimaru finally came running up and skidded to a stop. He then continued to walk into the Ming establishment. "Hello, I am the ninja that was sent for to bring the food to the shinobi apartments." Mr. Ming looked furiously at Yoshimaru as if expecting something better. He sneered at him and hissed at Yoshimaru, "WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG!? YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A SHINOBI! NEVERMIND, TAKE THIS AND GO. THE ADRESS IS ON THE DEVILVERY CASE." He then proceeded to shove the carrying case into Yoshimaru's hands.

Yoshimaru wasted no time and running out of the store. He did not pay any mind to the owner who Yoshimaru would assume was Ming. He was probably concerned about getting the meal to the place in time, but shinobi are not miracle workers. Yoshimaru continued to run down the street as fast possible using the technique as described above. Yoshimaru had a feeling that something was going to happen on his delivery mission because no mishaps had happened so far. What is waiting for Yoshimaru down his road?

Yoshimaru knew generally where he was going so he did not look at the delivery case for the address yet. At his rate of running, Yoshimaru estimated it would take 25 minutes if nothing wrong were to happen, but it is common knowledge that nothing goes on without a hitch in the plan. The rain was oppressive, but he had trained the myriad of times with his team; however, he had not trained in a long while with his whole team.

After about 15 minutes of running through the village streets to reach the ninja apartments, Yoshimaru noticed some off kilter steps from his own that were quickly moving behind him. He didn't want to attract too much attention because it would probably bring some of the hungry people out of the wood works of the village. Because Konohagakure was so large, there obviously would be some poor people who can only feed themselves by stealing it because they were most likely too lazy to do anything other than steal the food. However, this attempt would be misguided in this situation because Yoshimaru wasn't the average delivery person: he was a shinobi. From the footsteps in the rain, Yoshimaru could make out about 5 different sets of off kilter footsteps, and they seemed to all be adult foot print.

Finally, they got up enough courage to surround Yoshimaru. Two of the men walked out from an alley to stop Yoshimaru in a trap in order for the other three to bring up the rear of Yoshimaru. Undoubtedly, they must have used this many times before to the other people, but this wasn't going to work today. Yoshimaru jumped up above the people, a much greater height than those people had seen a delivery person jump in their life. Yoshimaru angled himself at a point that would allow him to jump onto the wall of the building that is on the alley. It must have been around 3 stories high, but Yoshimaru had a plan. He used hand signs in order to concentrate chakra into his feet that would allow his feet to stick onto the wall, and Yoshimaru increased the amount of chakra he would need to stick because it was wet outside. Soon he landed on the wall and ran up and went to the center of the roof top which would eliminate their ability to see Yoshimaru from the focal point. As a good measure Yoshimaru then made hand signs.

Five figures that looked just like Yoshimaru jumped from the roof top to five different southern directions, away from the destination of Yoshimaru. The five men were confused at the turn of events that happened before them, but they were determined. Each of the men followed the figures jumping from roof top to roof top that were going in different southern directions. Finally, 30 seconds later Yoshimaru started toward his destination yet again. By the time the people would figure out that they weren't the real Yoshimaru it would be too late.

One of the clones finally jumped down from the building 5 minutes later. The man that was tailing him found something wrong with the situation. He noticed that the figure was not making any splashing noises from running. He decided that something was wrong, and he was able to run ahead of the figure. The figure seemed to pay no attention to the man and it ran right into him. The man braced himself for the impact and tried to wrap his arms around the figure, but smoke appeared instead. The man stayed there puzzled, and he realised he was fooled. He then walked off, ashamed of his mistake.

Another of the men did the same thing nearly seconds later in another part of the village. The other 3 men tried to follow the genin in pursuit, but because of varying reasons, such as bad eating habits and bad shape got to the people. The clones thus popped on their own later in time because of the limited amount of chakra used to make them. The other 3 men would meet up with their two other friend at their hideout bewildered by their experience with the delivery person. They had never encountered such an evasive person in their life, and they concluded it must be a ninja that was delivering the food.

Yoshimaru got closer to his destination. Now as he jumped from roof top to roof top to avoid more encounters like what happened previously, he looked down at the address on the delivery implement. Yoshimaru could see from the apartments ahead, and he only had 10 more minutes left. He had an idea of where which apartments were but not specifically. Finally, he had reached his general destination. He read the numbers on the doors, and he jumped to where the hundreds place of where he had to go. Soon he saw the number of the apartment ahead of him, and he slowed down to a stop.

There were 5 minutes left for the delivery to be made, but something was wrong: none of the lights in the house were on. It looked as if someone was trying to opt out of the bill, but Yoshimaru was too clever to be fooled by this. Yoshimaru hid the food container behind him, and he knocked on the door adding, "This is a shinobi of Konohagakure no Sato. You are needed urgently!" The lights immediately came on and the shinobi opened up that was inside. "What is happening? Are we under attack?" Yoshimaru slightly smiled, and he took out the food that was behind him. "Your food is ready. That will be 800,000 Ryo!." The defeated shinobi looked down, and he took out his wallet, handing over the money in the process. Yoshimaru handed him the food, slightly bowed, and then set off for the Ming's. He finished 3 minutes early.

Yoshimaru reached Ming's in no time and handed over the money to the owner. Ming looked absolutely delighted, and he bowed to Yoshimaru slightly out of respect. He seemed very relieved because it was the last devilery of the day. Ming tried to tip Yoshimaru for such good work, but he denied it and said that he should submit whatever he wanted to give Yoshimaru to the Hokage to be distributed to him a long with his pay for the mission. He seemed to be in good spirits now, and Yoshimaru was happy to make him that way. He then set off for him living establishment to rest and relax. He needed to get those wet clothes off of him, which would be one of the first things he would do. Satisfied with himself, he enjoyed the walk home even though it was raining still thinking of how he could improve what he did in order to achieve a better success in the future.
